”La Marelle is a lovely place. The owner, Alex, is French and she is the main teacher there, together with one or two helpers. We find La Marelle to be very creative compared to other kindergardens. The teachers organize a lot of things for the kids to do, like baking cookies, various games, puppet shows, dancing, music, drawing etc. We like that it is not very regimented and that they let the kids explore the various toys available there, even if most of them are doing something else together. They do not force anyone to participate in a specific game or activity. In any case, the time I spent there observing, I found that the teachers are very good at keeping things interesting and engaging. The meals are prepared with organic veggies so that is a big bonus. It is not modern/high tech/brand spanking new, but what it lacks in polish it makes up in heart and substance. I sincerely have nothing negative to say about the place as we have been very happy with it.
We can be certain that whenever we pick up our daughter she has had a fun day and that she is happy and that is the most important thing!
Love to the La Marelle crew!”

"La Marelle is a wonderful, caring, co-operative space. There's a great balance of free play, activities and outings. They obviously genuinely care about the kids. The ratio of 1:5 carers to kids means that the carers can interact with the kids in a meaningful way. The staff are all multilingual, and switch languages quickly and easily to communicate with individual children. I was hesitant to start my daughter in any daycare because she was very attached to me, and had some social anxiety around other children, but Alex was very accommodating during my daughter's transition into daycare, and just 2 weeks after starting at La Marelle I saw a big improvement in her confidence in social situations. It's a big relief to have found somewhere that I feel 100% confident to leave my child."

"Mi hija de tres años lleva un año en La Marelle, y siempre hemos estado muy contentos con el trato de Alex con los niños. Me encanta que los lleva a los parques de la zona y que hacen picnic dos veces por semana, pocos niños salen tan a menudo de las guarderías. Creo que la mejor recomendación es ver a mi hija, que se queda feliz con Alex y con sus compañeritos todos los días, y siempre cuenta de las actividades que han hecho juntos. Es un lugar especial para los niños."

“Deciding to leave our 2.5 year old a couple of mornings a week at La Marelle was easy! After attending a year of Gineceo and Splash workshops, getting to know Alex, the space and philosophy of La Marelle, watching how much our toddler evolved socially and got so much out of the group activities, the grupo de crianza was a happy natural conclusion.
It's been about 3 months now and we love seeing how attached Tommy has become to Alex and his little group of amigos. The small groups, personalised attention, flexible, relaxed approach suits him and us down to the ground. We look forward to picking him up and listening to him excitedly recount what he's had for lunch, list the songs they've sung, who he danced with, about the puppet show they watched or what he painted...and with the brightest smile on his face:)
For our family a structured full time guarderia wouldn't have worked, we see this as the best fitting bridge to starting school in September...and we're all super happy with our choice.”
